We just wrapped up another football season here at Sheridan High School and are gearing up for basketball season. Unbelievably, spring sports will start conditioning after Christmas break! Does all of this bring back memories of your high school days at SHS and playing on a championship team? We know those memories will never be forgotten by you, and we want to preserve them for everyone. Wouldn't it be great to bring your family to a game at SHS and point out yourself in a championship team picture that is hanging on the wall? We want to make that moment possible for you. Over the years, championship team pictures have faded, become damaged, and have been removed. With the help of several SHS alums, the idea suddenly came to life to create a "Wall of Champions" displaying uniform, professionally printed pictures.
Every SHS team that has earned a post season tournament championship - sectional, regional, semi-state, state or an undefeated season - will be displayed. That is not all! Every individual that was a state qualifier, state tournament mental attitude award winner, member of the all-star team, coaches associations' all-state team, or was a member of a professional team will also be displayed. Any coach that is a Hall of Fame inductee, state coach of the year, or gained national recognition will be diplayed. Actual samples of championship team pictures are located below for three different sports.
Individual pictures will be of the same professional quality. As you can imagine, a project like this is not part of the annual operating budget. However, it is an important part of our Sheridan High School heritage. So...will you join us in making a worthwhile investment to preserve that history? Creating this special area dedicated to celebrating our proud sports history, to show appreciation for those accomplishments, and to commemorate those teams in Blackhawk history is a costly venture. We are therefore, asking for contributions to accomplish this task. With your help, a $50 gift can bring the "Wall of Champions" to life! All donations will be very much appriciated.

All athletes that are pictured with a team or individually are invited to join Dr. Arrowood, school board members and members of the steering committee for a special Wall of Champions Donor Reception on the evening of January 21, 2011, at Larry Hobbs Hall in the High School. Not only will you get to fellowship with other teammates, you will see a sneak preview of the wall before the official unveiling ceremony which will take place that night between games.
All $100 donars will receive a free, 2010-2011 membership to the Adult Booster Club. Corporate donations are also welcome. A $1,000 corporate donation will put your company's name on a plaque that will be predominately placed among the championship team pictures.
