Cafeteria Information

Children need healthy meals to learn. Sheridan Community Schools offer healthy meals every school day that meet the federal guidelines of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Your student may purchase breakfast, lunch and/or healthy snacks. Again this year, our school will be using a computerized pre-pay/debit system. The computerized system will allow parents and students to deposit funds in advance of use. Any funds left at the end of the year transfer to the following school year.

Each student has been assigned a meal account in which to deposit money for their purchases. Students are assigned a number to access this account.

The cafeteria staff encourages a prepayment plan. For those interested, a payment schedule is on the back. Deposits may be made online at At the elementary school, money is collected in the room and sent to the cafeteria to be deposited. At the middle and high school, money is deposited at the point of service. We encourage the use of checks as a receipt, and we ask that you please write the students name or number on the memo line.

For your convenience, meal prices for the 2016/2017 school year will be:
  • Student Breakfast - $1.35
  • Adult/Visitor Breakfast - $1.60
  • Elementary Lunch - $2.25
  • Middle/High Lunch - $2.35
  • Adult/Visitor Lunch - $3.35
Students and parents are encouraged to keep track of account balances. The cafeteria staff will make every effort to advise students and parents of low or negative balances. Our recommended mode of communication is through email; therefore, please ensure the school has an updated email address on file. Additionally, please note that there is a charge limit at the elementary and middle school but no charging at the high school level. If you DO NOT want your child to purchase extra food, please notify the cafeteria and we will block all ala carte sales.

Our school also will be doing Direct Certification .This is a federal program where our student roster is matched with federal programs. If your child/children qualify, you will receive a letter by August 5th. If after August 5th you have not received a letter and wish to apply for assistance with meals and textbooks, an application will be available online after July 1st at You may also pick up an application in the school office, or cafeteria office. Upon request, a copy may be mailed to you. If you would like to inquire about the status of your application, you may call the cafeteria office after August 8th.
